In KOMOJU, customer-borne payment fees apply only to Konbini (convenience store) payments (220 JPY incl. tax) and Pay-easy payments (190 JPY incl. tax). No payment fee is charged by KOMOJU for any other payment method.
Payment Methods Where Customer Fees Apply
The payment fees charged by KOMOJU to the customer (purchaser) and any separate fees borne by the customer at the time of payment are as follows:
| Payment Method | KOMOJU Customer Payment Fee (Incl. Tax) | Conditions & Separate Fees |
|---|---|---|
| Konbini (Convenience Store) |
Flat 220 JPY (200 JPY + 20 JPY tax) |

| Pay-easy |
Flat 190 JPY (173 JPY + 17 JPY tax) |
Added per payment regardless of the financial institution or transaction amount. *Depending on the financial institution and time of day, additional ATM after-hours fees or coin handling fees set by the financial institution may apply. |
| Bank Transfer | 0 JPY (None) | No customer-borne payment fee is added by KOMOJU. However, the bank transfer fee set by the customer's financial institution must be borne by the customer. Frequently Asked Questions (By Symptom)
■ Why is the total payment amount (billed amount) higher than the product price?
When Konbini (220 JPY incl. tax) or Pay-easy (190 JPY incl. tax) is selected, a customer-borne payment fee is automatically added to the order total. On the KOMOJU hosted checkout screen, a note stating that a 220 JPY (or 190 JPY for Pay-easy) fee has been added is displayed below the payment amount, and the fee is listed as "決済手数料" (Payment Fee) on the payment instruction email and the payment fee invoice. If the customer prefers a payment method without a payment fee, please have them contact the store (merchant) before completing payment to cancel the current order and place a new order using a credit card or smartphone payment.
■ Can a customer change their payment method to a fee-free option after placing an order?
Due to system specifications, the payment method (or selected convenience store) cannot be changed once an order has been confirmed. Payment methods also cannot be changed or re-processed for transactions with a "Pending" or "Expired" status. To use a different payment method, the current order must be cancelled and a new order must be placed with the preferred payment method.
For Merchants: Please Cancel the Original Order When Changing Payment Methods
If an unpaid order is left uncancelled until it becomes "Expired", KOMOJU will automatically send payment reminder emails to the customer before the expiration date, which may cause confusion or duplicate payments.
When a customer requests to change their payment method or cancel their order, please make sure to cancel the original transaction rather than leaving it unpaid.
■ When refunding a Konbini or Pay-easy order, is the customer-borne payment fee also refunded?
In principle, the customer-borne payment fee (220 JPY for Konbini / 190 JPY for Pay-easy) is a system usage fee required to process the payment and is not automatically refunded (nor can the payment fee be refunded on its own). However, if the merchant chooses to refund the payment fee as well, you can check the "Include payment fee" (決済手数料を含む ※マーチャント負担) box on the "Refund Request" screen in the KOMOJU dashboard to refund both the product price and the payment fee to the customer's designated bank account.
For Merchants: Note on Using "Include payment fee"
When you check "Include payment fee" (決済手数料を含む ※マーチャント負担) on the "Refund Request" screen, the refunded payment fee amount is borne by the merchant and will be deducted (offset) from your unsettled sales balance.
*Separately, a refund processing fee of 300 JPY (incl. tax) per refund applies to the merchant for Bank Transfer, Konbini, and Pay-easy refunds.
