You can add KOMOJU while continuing to use your current payment service. If you are switching providers, you can also switch over gradually by running both in parallel.
Using KOMOJU Alongside Other Services
You can add KOMOJU while continuing to use the payment service you currently use. Because there are no setup fees and no monthly fees, you can also try KOMOJU for some payment methods first and then expand.
We also welcome consultations such as "adding an alternative payment method because Amazon Pay is ending" or "adding a specific payment method to reduce checkout abandonment". Let us know what you have in mind, and we will suggest options.
Switching from Another Provider
Do I need a KOMOJU review even if I have passed a review with another provider?
Even if you have passed a review for Konbini payments or other methods with another provider, KOMOJU carries out its own review based on uniform criteria. This is because reviews for each payment method are conducted individually based on agreements with each payment provider and card brand.
For this reason, please plan for the same review period as a new application. You can check the estimated review period below.
Can I transfer card information stored with another provider?
KOMOJU is designed not to receive card information from merchants or other services. To maintain security standards fully compliant with PCI DSS Level 1 v4.0, card information stored with other services is not transferred as is.
If you use recurring billing (subscriptions), we suggest the following approaches.
- Migrate gradually by running both in parallel: Keep existing contracts with the other provider and accept new sign-ups with KOMOJU
- Have card information re-registered at renewal: Ask your customers to register their card information with KOMOJU at their next renewal
Moving from Another Cart System to Shopify
Many merchants switch their payments to KOMOJU when moving to Shopify from systems such as Color Me Shop, MakeShop, or BASE.
The basic steps are as follows.
- Create a KOMOJU account and check the integration with Shopify in Test mode
- Apply for Live mode (production environment) (you can apply while your site is still under construction)
- After the review is complete, enable KOMOJU payments when your Shopify store goes live
Because the review can proceed in parallel, it is easier to start accepting payments on your site's launch date.
Next Steps
- Create an account for free and test it in Test mode
- Check the review period for the payment methods you plan to use in [Japan] Estimated Review Period for Live Mode Application
- Work backward from your migration schedule and apply for Live mode
