Why this message is displayed
When a Konbini payment or bank transfer expires on KOMOJU, KOMOJU sends a notification (a rejection request) to Shopify to "terminate that payment".
As the reason code attached to this notification, the current API version uses "PROCESSING_ERROR (The payment could not be processed for technical reasons)".
As a result, even when the reality is simply that "the customer did not pay by the deadline", a message is displayed on Shopify as if a technical error had occurred.
This display is misleading, but it does not mean that a problem has occurred in the payment processing itself.
Please note: It may also be displayed for temporary errors (timeouts, etc.)
In addition to expiration, "PROCESSING_ERROR" may also be displayed when a temporary failure or timeout occurs on the payment provider's side.
To check whether the payment has been completed, please always confirm the transaction status in the KOMOJU admin panel.
When a transaction is "Paid" but is not reflected in the Shopify status
There are cases where two transactions are created on KOMOJU for a single order. The first transaction (Transaction 1) is the initial transaction and is "Expired (PROCESSING_ERROR)", while the second transaction (Transaction 2) is created via Shopify's "Pay Now" button and is "Paid".
In this case, even if Transaction 2 is "Paid", it may not be reflected in the order status on Shopify.
This occurs because the notification for the expired Transaction 1 causes Shopify to treat the payment session for that order as terminated, so Shopify can no longer accept the payment result of Transaction 2 that was completed afterward.
As long as the payment of Transaction 2 can be confirmed on KOMOJU, the customer's payment itself has been completed, and no duplicate charge occurs.
How to handle it: When you can cancel the expired Transaction 1 on KOMOJU
Please cancel the expired Transaction 1 on KOMOJU.
By doing so, the status of the paid Transaction 2 may be reflected on Shopify.
If Transaction 2 is not reflected as "Paid" even after some time following the cancellation, please contact KOMOJU support following the steps in "When you cannot cancel Transaction 1" below.
How to handle it: When you cannot cancel Transaction 1 on KOMOJU
If Transaction 1 remains "Expired" or "On hold" on KOMOJU and cannot be canceled, processing on the KOMOJU side is required in order to terminate the transaction session.
We apologize for the inconvenience, but please contact us via the inquiry form with the following information. After confirming the details, we will perform the processing to reflect the correct status on Shopify.
Required information: The KOMOJU Order IDs of Transaction 1 and Transaction 2
