The platform model, which distributes sales to multiple sellers or tenants, is currently offered as an early release to a limited number of merchants only. We are not accepting new applications. The start date for general availability has not been decided.
Current Availability
Marketplace features (such as distributed payouts to sub-merchants, holding sales, and payout settings per tenant) are at the stage of an early release that we are rolling out together with a limited number of merchants.
For this reason, we cannot accommodate the following requests at this time.
- Handling transactions for multiple shops, organizers, or tenants with a single KOMOJU account
- Registering individuals or sole proprietors as tenants (Payout Merchants) and distributing sales to them
- Setting a minimum payout amount, payout frequency, or payout fee per sub-merchant (including specifying
settlement_minimum_amount) - Holding sales until transaction completion is confirmed (escrow)
- Distributed payouts from clients to individual workers (outsourced work, recruitment, and success-fee brokerage)
- Holding and distributing support funds, and refunding them if the project is not carried out
The start date for general availability has not been decided. Once it is decided, we will announce it in "News / Updates" on the Help Center.
Questions About Fees, Screening, and Responsibilities
Information on the platform model's fee structure (platform fees and sub-merchant management fees), the onboarding screening flow for sub-merchants, the screening unit for convenience store payments, and the scope of responsibility for refunds and chargebacks will be provided when general availability starts. We cannot provide confirmed details at this time.
Questions About Laws Such as Funds Transfer Service Regulations
How your service is positioned under the Payment Services Act depends on your service design. We will review this together with your business details during merchant screening, so please apply through the Live Mode (Production Environment) application form.
Structures Available Now
Can I use KOMOJU with a structure where my company is the seller (single merchant model)?
Yes. You can use KOMOJU if your company is the seller of the products or services and receives the sales in its own account. Payments to sellers, partners, and organizers are then transferred individually by your company.
What should I do if I operate multiple shop sites?
For how to handle multiple sites, please see the following.
- Can I share a single KOMOJU account across multiple shop sites (such as Shopify)?
- How to Add a KOMOJU Account
Can I use Payment Links for matching or brokerage services?
Whether KOMOJU can be used for services such as interpreter matching, staffing, and side-job matching, including those involving ongoing service provision, is decided individually after reviewing the details during merchant screening. This also applies if you wish to use Payment Links; we cannot promise eligibility in advance. Please apply through the Live Mode (Production Environment) application form.
